Dealership History

After being associated with Scott Chevrolet dealership in downtown Oklahoma City for almost 20 years as an employee, partner and owner, we sold the store in 1980. In May of that year, we came to El Reno and purchased what was then the Gerald HOWE Chevrolet. At that time, the Frontier Chevrolet Co. was organized and established. Our primary area of responsibility was Canadian County and surrounding areas. We began with a staff of 27 and began to grow by selling and servicing the Chevrolet product to the best of our ability.

Over the years, we have achieved many accomplishments. In 1990, we had the distinction and honor of being asked by Chevrolet to help write the book on Service Supremacy. This manual contains Chevrolet's recommendations on the most effective ways to operate and manage a service department. We were one of 21 pilot dealers who spent 13 months researching and compiling this manual. This way of doing business has become popular nationwide and we are very proud to be a part of the original founding group.

After 14 years and considerable growth, we decided to expand and try to do the same with a new product. In March of 1994, we acquired the Thompson Motor Co., which was located across the highway from us. We renamed it Frontier Motor Company. In that location, we are authorized to sell Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep.

Together we now do business as one entity with a family of approximately 70 employees. Over the years, we have built a new Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep facility located at the southeast corner of Route 66 and Highway 81. The former Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep store was completely remodeled and now serves as our used car department housing quality clean trade-ins from the Chevrolet store and our Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep store.

We like to think we are a highly competitive and the place to do business in the areas of selling and servicing both new and used cars and trucks. We believe that a high rate of customer satisfaction is crucial to the success of our stores.
